Relationships Counselling

Improve communication, rebuild trust, and foster deeper connection.

Counselling for Relationships

Because love, care, and connection take many forms—and all of them deserve support.
Relationships are deeply personal. They don’t have to look a certain way to matter. Whether you’re in a same-sex romantic relationship, a close friendship or queerplatonic bond, a non-monogamous or polyamorous partnership, or navigating life with your chosen family, counselling offers a space where your relationships are honoured.

Conflict, Misunderstanding, and Feeling Unseen
You might be stuck in cycles of conflict or feeling like your needs go unheard. These patterns can be especially painful when your relationship doesn’t fit into the traditional mold. Here, your experiences, your bonds, and your connection matters—whether romantic, platonic, sexual, or somewhere in between.

Trust, Jealousy, and Mismatched Needs
All relationships come with moments of discomfort—especially when navigating jealousy, breaches of trust, or differing levels of intimacy and availability. In counselling, we’ll work together to explore these feelings, honour your emotional experience, and create space for honest communication and mutual understanding.

Supporting Non-Monogamous and Chosen Family Relationships
Non-monogamous relationships and chosen families can be beautiful and affirming—and also complex. Whether you’re juggling multiple commitments, struggling with time and energy distribution, or facing tension between your chosen and biological families, we offer a nonjudgmental space to talk it through. You don’t have to explain or justify your relationship structure here—we understand and support it.

Navigating Identity Differences Within Relationships
You and your loved one(s) may be navigating differences in race, gender, neurotype, sexuality, or cultural background. These differences can bring both richness and challenge. Counselling can help you explore how identity impacts your connection, hold space for uncomfortable conversations, and build deeper empathy and resilience together.

Holding Space for Grief, Change, and Growth
Sometimes relationships shift. You may be grieving a friendship break, coping with long-distance changes, or questioning what role someone plays in your life now. Therapy offers a place to process these transitions with gentleness—whether you’re working toward repair, closure, or simply clarity.

You Deserve Relationships That Feel True to You
There is no “right” way to be in relationship—only ways that feel respectful, nourishing, and honest. Whether you’re seeking support alone or with a partner or friend, this is a space where your way of loving, relating, and connecting is welcomed. Let’s work together to help your relationships feel more aligned—with your needs, your values, and your sense of self.

Exploring Relationship Structures That Work for You
If you’re curious about or actively involved in Ethical Non-Monogamy, counselling can support you in exploring what truly fits your needs. This includes—and is not limited to—hierarchical and non-hierarchical polyamory, solo polyamory, poly/mono relationships, polycules, triads, relationship anarchy, and open relationships. Together, we’ll expand communication skills, shed external expectations that don’t align with your authentic self, and establish ethical boundaries, agreements, and clear communication patterns.

Conflict, Misunderstanding, and Feeling Unseen
You might find yourself stuck in patterns of conflict or struggling to feel heard and valued—especially when your relationships don’t fit mainstream molds. These feelings can be isolating and painful. Here, your experiences are valid, your bonds are real, and your connections matter—whether romantic, platonic, sexual, or somewhere in between.

Trust, Jealousy, and Mismatched Needs
Jealousy, trust issues, and differing needs or desires are common in all relationships. Counselling provides a supportive space to understand and validate these feelings, explore their roots, and develop tools for honest communication and mutual respect.

Supporting Non-Monogamous and Chosen Family Relationships
Non-monogamous relationships and chosen families offer unique beauty and complexity. Whether juggling multiple commitments or navigating tensions between chosen and biological families, this is a place where you don’t have to explain or justify your relationship structure. We see and support your chosen way of connecting.

Holding Space for Grief, Change, and Growth
Relationships shift and evolve. You may be grieving a friendship ending, managing long-distance dynamics, or redefining someone’s role in your life. Therapy offers gentle support as you process these transitions—whether you’re seeking repair, closure, or clarity.

Validating the Emotional Landscape
We understand the distress that can come from non-acceptance, feelings of shame tied to being your authentic self, fears of judgement, and the complicated emotions around jealousy. Your feelings are real and deserve acknowledgement.
